Automotive case study

One of Sweden’s largest vehicle manufacturers was having problems with costly interruptions in its welding nut feeding system for sheet-metal pressing. Working closely with the client, we evaluated their existing system and helped them to switch to a more efficient system using piercing nuts instead of welding nuts. We designed and installed the new efficient and reliable feeding system – we successfully reduced the number of process steps and increased the degree of automation.

6 YEARS WITHOUT INTERRUPTION

This assignment included everything from our pilot study to our recommendation, test installation, test runs, commissioning and handover. It also included application support and training. Now, six years later, we can take credit for the truly outstanding result! Production costs have fallen by 25% and availability is at a record high of 99.5%. And, in all this time, the client has not suffered a single outage!

The vehicle manufacturer can testify that they have never experienced anything like this and that ESSVE has outperformed all their other suppliers when it comes to minimising outages.

The same feeding system has subsequently been installed in a production line belonging to another of Sweden’s leading vehicle manufacturers, with the same fantastic result.

We are now prepared to offer this system to other manufacturing companies that are interested in reducing their costs, saving time and minimising their risk of interruptions.
