Established in 1970, ESSVE supplies more than just products. We also deliver a promise to always provide the smartest solution for attachment.

1970 - ESSVE starts out as a general shop.
ESSVE’s history begins in 1970 and was at that time a general shop. Among the products in stock were a joint sealer for making asphalt repairs, as well as ladders, flagpoles and solutions for attachment. ESSVE was characterized by a strong entrepreneurial drive and had a turnover ranging between 10 and 15 million Swedish kronor (MSEK) during the first few years. |

1979 - LM Ericsson acquires ESSVE
During the years that followed, 1979-86, the company shifted from being a general shop to focusing on solutions for attachment. With a strong entrepreneurial drive and focus on sales they decided to sell the part of the business that had to do with ladders, construction scaffolding and flagpoles. The idea of “being able to attach anything onto anything” became the motto.
LM Ericsson acquired the company in 1979. During this period ESSVE purchased the company Hagamaskin, which had the agency for Makita in Sweden, and took over ITW Paslode operation in Sweden. A lot happened in the company in a very short period of time and by the end of 1984 the company had a turnover of 85 MSEK.
1984 - ESSVE carries out one of the first MBOs in Sweden and the company gets 500 new ambassadors.
In 1984 LM Ericsson wanted to sell ESSVE and the sister company Thorman & Company to Anderssons Industrier and proceed to go public at a later date. The management was opposed to the decision and offered to make a Management Buy Out (MBO) instead. Following the buy out all the employees and the employees at the resellers were invited to invest in the company via convertible capital notes. It resulted in the company having 500 new ambassadors.
1987 - ESSVE is listed on the OTC-list
In 1987, ESSVE was listed on the OTC-list in connection to a new issue. During the following years ESSVE developed real estate in Sollentuna, Malmö and Uddevalla, Sweden. The properties were sold in 1989, just prior to the real estate crisis, with ESSVE still as tenants in the buildings. In 2001 the warehouse was moved from Uddevalla to Ulricehamn.
1990 - ESSVE has a turnover of 500 MSEK and Ferro takes over the company
During the 1990s negotiations began to sell ESSVE. The corporation then had an annual turnover of 500 MSEK. In 1991, the company Ferro acquired ESSVE by an exchange of shares. Bergman & Beving acted as a so called “knight in shining armor” and offered to purchase ESSVE’s shareholders’ shares in Ferro. In 1994, Bergman & Beving decided to make an offer on the remainder of the outstanding shares in Ferro, thus becoming the 100 % owner of Ferro and its subsidiaries ESSVE, Järnia, Luna and Skydda.
